Donate Items

This project can only succeed with the help of your donations. We are looking for any items that relate to 9/11. Below is a list of items we need to make this project a success.  Donating items is a great way to keep the memory of loved ones alive.

Financial

We are accepting financial support to help fund the project expenses for materials, transportation, administration and exhibition space.

 

Photos

We are asking family members and friends of victims here in the US and from the Afghan and Iraq Wars to send us photos of loved ones to collage on the wall in their honor.

Videos

We are asking the families of victims to send us 1-3 minute videos showing the photo of their loved one and speaking about the person sharing how he/she made a difference in the world and how much they are missed.

Shoes

We are asking the families of victims to donate a shoe that belongs to their lost loved one. If you no longer have one please find a used shoe that would represent them.

Letters

We are in search of letters from loved ones and/or family members that you can share with us either by sending the originals or making high quality copies if possible.

Other Media

We are also asking the public who have collected news papers, articles, or videos who would like to make them part of this exhibit to send them to us as well.

Express Yourself

Feel free to be creative in your expression. You can paint the shoe, collage the photo, or write a message. Doing this gives the viewer an opportunity to connect with your loved one. This project is uncensored and we welcome you to be honest in your thoughts on what you place on the board or the comments you make in your videos. The only way to find our way is through diversity. I hope that after you get a chance to reflect on what you saw or did during the event it will resonate with you and help in clarifying your misconceptions about other cultures and faith.

What We Do With the Donated Items

We will be pairing the shoe with the video that you send so the viewer can hold the shoe and watch the video at the same time. This is a powerful way for a message to resonate with the viewer and leave a lasting impression and hopefully make a difference in their lives. The idea is to have all of this at hand during the co- creative events where people like you and I can choose from the stack what resonates with them and find a way to place it on the wall to make a statement.
